The additional system of passive safety which more often is called the safety airbag can be established in various options, as a standard component or established at will, depending on model of the car and the market of sales.
The airbag of safety is installed to protect the driver and the passenger on forward sitting from receiving severe injuries in case of head-on collision.
This system consists of the airbags of safety installed in the center of a steering wheel and on the right side of the dashboard, two sensors of collision installed in front of the car (for release models till 1995) and the central sensor located in interior of the car.
On some models, pyrotechnic tension devices of seat belts are installed in ordinary tension devices for tightening of belts in case of head-on collision.
Safety airbag module
The module of the airbag of safety consists of the case with the front panel (airbag) and systems of filling of a pillow air which is installed on a reverse side of the case over an opening through which air gets to a safety cushion, filling it almost instantly when the electric signal comes.
In a special way the twirled wire which transmits a signal to the driver's module is called a spiral wire.
The spiral wire is the flat tape capable to carry electric current which is twirled many times in order that it could transmit an electric signal, irrespective of the provision of a steering column.
On release models till 1995 the system of the airbag of safety has three sensors: two sensors of collision in front of the car behind a bumper and are slightly higher than niches of wheels and the safety sensor which is located in the central electronic block of the airbag of safety installed in the central console. Forward sensors of collision represent the switches reacting to pressure which close an electric chain in case of collision of sufficient force. The electric signal from sensors of collision is sent to the safety sensor located in the central electronic block of the airbag of safety which closes a chain and fills a pillow.
Central electronic block of the airbag of safety
The central electronic block of the airbag of safety turns on the safety sensor and the microprocessor which monitors work of system. It checks system of the airbag of safety every time at start of the engine, ignition an alarm bulb of AIRBAG on an instrument guard, and, switching off it if the system works normally. If in system of the airbag of safety malfunction is found, the bulb will light up, and will not die away, and the central electronic block will remember a malfunction code. If the alarm bulb of the airbag of safety of AIRBAG lights up, and will not die away, the car needs to be given urgently to auto repair shop for repair.
Tension devices of seat belts
Besides safety airbags, the additional system of passive safety can also turn on pyrotechnic tension devices of seat belts which it is put in action by means of the gas sprays located in natyazhitel of seat belts. Pyrotechnic natyazhitel work from the signal sent by the central electronic block of the airbag of safety together with airbags, for giving to seat belts of a bigger tension and ensuring additional protection at collision.

Elements of additional system of passive safety
Each of sockets of connection of the airbag of safety uses system from two latches for increase in reliability of connection.
Sometimes, happens it is necessary to remove the steering wheel, the radio receiver or any other elements located near or on the dashboard. In this case, you should work in the close neighbourhood with wires and connections of additional system of passive safety.
It is easy to distinguish wires of additional system of passive safety from others; they have brightly yellow isolation.
Do not disconnect sockets of connection of wires of additional system of passive safety, except cases when you need to disconnect system. Also, do not use electronic instrumentations on system wires.
Always disconnect additional system of passive safety before work near elements or wires of system.
