2. Maintenance
In this manual the term "maintenance" belongs to set of the performed works, but not to the concrete procedure. If from the moment of acquisition of the new car in accuracy to observe a maintenance order, to carry out frequent inspections of level of liquids and details subject to the increased wear what it is insistently reminded in the management of, then at the engine high operational qualities will remain and the volume of additional works will be minimized. However, if to carry out maintenance irregularly, then operation of the engine, most likely, will be unsatisfactory. Especially it concerns the engine of the acquired not new car which was not exposed to regular checks. In such cases besides periodic maintenance, it is necessary to perform additional adjustment works. Any kind of works on maintenance, or search of the reason of abnormal operation of the engine should be begun with check of a compression in cylinders. Check of a compression in cylinders (see subsection 3.1.2.3) gives valuable information of rather general condition of many details of the internal device of the engine which can be used as fundamental both for the current maintenance, and for repair procedures. If, for example, a compression such is that strong wear of the engine is obvious, then routine maintenance will not lead to restoration of normal operational qualities and all works come down to an excessive waste of time and money. The list of works which performance often leads to recovery of normal operation of the engine is given below. Minor adjustment works Clear, examine and check the rechargeable battery (see subsection 2.6.3). Check a state and level of all liquids of the engine (see subsection 2.5.1 and subsection 2.3). Check and adjust drive belts (see subsection 2.6.4). Replace spark plugs (see subsection 2.8.2). Check a cover and the runner of the distributor of ignition (see subsection 2.8.3). Check candles and wires of high voltage of the coil of ignition (see subsection 3.3.4). Check all hoses in a motor compartment (see subsection 2.6.5). Check the cooling system (see subsection 2.6.6). Check the air filter (see subsection 2.7.2). Main adjustment works All minor works and those which are listed below: Check system of ignition (see subsection 3.3.4). Check system of a charge of the rechargeable battery (see subsection 2.6.3). Check fuel system (see subsection 2.7.3). Replace the air filter (see subsection 2.7.2). Replace a cover and the runner of the distributor of ignition (see subsection 2.8.3). Replace high-voltage wires (see subsection 2.8.3). |
