Prevention

The dust formed as a result of wear of brake shoes contains the asbestos hazardous to health. Do not blow off it by means of compressed air and do not inhale.

If it is necessary to carry out a support partition (usually because of leak of brake fluid) previously learn the price of spare parts or cost of already vosstavlenny or new support. Before a partition acquire repair set. Always repair both supports together – never repair only one of them.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift a forward part of the car and establish it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Turn off a bolt (it is specified by the lower arrow) and disconnect a brake hose (it is specified by the top arrow) from a support.
3. By means of a piece of a rubber hose of suitable diameter close a hose opening in order that in it dirt or moisture did not get and to reduce loss of brake fluid.
4. Being guided by the instructions provided in subsection 9.3 remove a support (removal of a support is a part of operation on replacement of brake shoes).

Partition

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For a partition of a support remove a fixing ring of a cover and a cover. Before removal of the piston, place the wooden block or several rags between the piston and a support for protection against damage at removal.
2. To get the piston from a support, connect an air hose to the place of connection of a brake hose to a support and squeeze out the piston by means of compressed air. Do not apply too big pressure it is, enough, that the piston went out of the cylinder a little.
Prevention

Be careful and watch that your fingers were not between a support and the piston as the piston can press them.
3. Examine the surface of the piston and walls of the cylinder of a support. If they are scratched, on them is watch corrosion or wear, replace a support together with the piston.
4. If these elements in good shape, remove consolidation of the piston from the support cylinder by means of the wooden or plastic tool. Metal tools can damage the surface of the cylinder.
5. On a support of the PD51 model squeeze out the plug from a support and remove dustproof covers on both sides.
6. Clear all elements by means of the cleaning liquid for the mechanism of brakes.
7. For assembly of a support you need to acquire the repair set suitable for your model of the car.
8. Omit new consolidation of the piston and the piston in brake fluid and install them in the support cylinder. Do not use force at installation of the piston in the cylinder, check that it was established correctly, and enter it into the cylinder, it is dense having pressured him (do not make too big effort).
9. Establish a new dustproof cover of the piston and a fixing ring.
10. Grease plugs with silicone lubricant (is included in a repair kit) and insert them into support openings. Establish dustproof covers.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation of a support is carried out upside-down removals. Do not forget to replace copper sealing washers (laying) on connection of a brake hose (new washers are usually included in repair set).
2. Pump over a contour of the brake system, being guided by instructions (see subsection 9.12). Check that connections of brake hoses did not proceed. Check work of brakes before normal operation of the car.
