3.3.9. Induction sensor

GENERAL INFORMATION

Check of resistance of the induction sensor of the distributor

1. An arrangement of conclusions on cars with the built-in block of electronic ignition (Toyota and GEO respectively)
2. An arrangement of conclusions on cars with the block of electronic ignition of external installation (Toyota and GEO respectively)
  3. An arrangement of conclusions on cars with the built-in block of electronic ignition (Toyota and GEO respectively)
4. An arrangement of conclusions on cars with the block of electronic ignition of external installation (Toyota and GEO respectively)

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the socket from the distributor and measure resistance between conclusions of the induction sensor (See a photo Check of resistance of the induction sensor of the distributor).
2. Compare results of measurements to the values specified in the section "Specifications". If the measured resistance differ from standard values, then replace the sensor.

Check of a gap between the sensor and a rotor

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Remove the distributor (see subsection 3.3.6).
3. Measure by the brass probe a gap between a rotor and a ledge of the induction sensor. Compare result to standard. If the gap differs from standard, then replace the distributor as the gap is not subject to adjustment. Increase in a gap against norm is usually caused by wear of the bearing of the distributor.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Remove the distributor (see subsection 3.3.6).
3. Remove the ignition coil (see subsection 3.3.5).
4. Unscrew adjusting screws of the induction sensor.
5. Remove the induction sensor from the distributor.
6. Remove the condenser and replace it.
7. Installation is carried out upside-down.
