Prevention
The procedure of installation of the moment of ignition is applicable to almost all cars which are considered in this manual. However, if the order of installation of ignition specified in the information plate of the car differs from described below, then act according to the instruction of the plate.
Check
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |

1. Connect a tachometer (1), being guided by the instruction of the manufacturer of the device (2 – the battery). |
|
2. Find the diagnostic socket (it is specified by an arrow) and close накоротко conclusions of E1 and TE1. |
|
3. At the switched-off ignition connect a stroboscope, being guided by the instruction of the manufacturer of the device (on a photo the set for check and installation of the moment of ignition is represented). Almost all stroboscopes eat from the battery. Besides, on a high-voltage wire of the 1st cylinder the winding of the induction sensor of a stroboscope puts on.

Installation
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. In most cases it is necessary to disconnect vacuum hoses and to muffle them. For this purpose cast caps of various diameters are provided. |
| 2. The lamp flash operated by an impulse of current of electric breakdown of a candle of the 1st cylinder. Radiates the directed beam of light at the spark category in a candle of the 1st cylinder. Wires of a lamp are connected according to the instruction of the manufacturer. |
| 3. On some cars access to a bolt of fastening of the distributor is complicated therefore the curved key is applied, similar represented in a picture above. |
| 4. Find ignition moment tags on a forward cover and on a crankshaft pulley. |
|
5. Start the engine and warm up up to the normal working temperature (the top hose of a radiator has to be hot). Make sure that turns of idling of the engine meet standard (see subsection 5.1). Direct lamp flash light to an ignition moment scale on a forward cover (drawing). The tag on a pulley of the crankshaft has to coincide with a tag of 10 degrees to VMT on a scale. If necessary weaken a bolt of fastening of the distributor and slowly turn the distributor before coincidence of tags on a pulley and on a scale. Tighten a bolt of fastening of the distributor and again check installation of the moment of ignition. |
| 6. Remove a crossing point from the diagnostic socket and be convinced that the corner of an advancing of ignition meets standard (see subsection 3.3.1). |
| 7. Switch off ignition and remove a stroboscope set from the engine. |
