Threefold (oxidation-reduction) catalytic converter is the device for decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases and is installed in the exhaust system
Prevention
Finding of people or combustible materials near an exhaust pipe on the working engine is not allowed. Exhaust gases have very high temperature.
The movement of the car or operation of the engine idling near flammable materials, for example a grass, leaves, paper or rags is not allowed.
There is a possibility of an overheat of converter and creation of a fire-dangerous situation. Therefore follow the following rules.
Fill the car only with unleaded gasoline. Driving with very low level of fuel in a tank is not allowed.
At production of fuel interruptions in operation of cylinders of the engine and increase in load of converter are possible.
Operation of the engine idling is forbidden more than 20 min.
Avoid the modes when the engine works racing.
Launch of the engine is forbidden by towage or pushing of the car.
Launch of the engine at the movement of the car is forbidden.
Support the engine in good repair.
The failure of electric equipment of the engine, systems of ignition or fuel system involves a converter overheat.
If the refusal of launch of the engine or operation of the engine after switching off of ignition are often observed, then immediately address to service of car service for check.
