3.1.1.10. Cam-shafts and pushers (l engines 1,6 and 1,8)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Sequence of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of final valves (engines of 1,6 l and 1,8 l)

Sequence of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of inlet valves (engines of 1,6 l and 1,8 l)

Adjusting tags on cam-shaft gear wheels

1. Adjusting tags

2. The adjusting tags (duplicated)

3. VMT tags

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders (see subsection 3.1.1.3).
2. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in compression step VMT (see subsection 3.1.1.2). Apply a paint droplet on tags of VMT of gear wheels of a cam-shaft (tags are in the place of gearing of gear wheels, their arrangement coincides with the line of the section of a head of cylinders and covers of a head of cylinders.

Prevention

On gear wheels of cam-shafts there are two sets of tags. The tags coinciding in the provision of VMT correspond only to orientation of a cam-shaft in VMT, other tags are used for the correct orientation of cam-shafts at their installation.

3. Remove the ignition distributor (see subsection 3.3.6). Remove the conducted cam-shaft gear wheel (see subsection 3.1.1.8) and a gear belt (see subsection 3.1.1.6).
4. Measure an axial side play of each of cam-shafts by means of an indicator head. Install the indicator on zero. Shake a cam-shaft with a force in the longitudinal direction (on yourself and from yourself) and define an axial side play. If the side play exceeds maximum permissible, then the cam-shaft and (or) a head of the block of cylinders are subject to replacement.
5. Turn cam-shafts so that the technological opening under an auxiliary bolt in a gear wheel of a cam-shaft was located directly over edge of a head of cylinders. In this situation the cams corresponding to the first and third cylinder of a cam-shaft of inlet valves have to rest under the influence of springs against pushers with identical efforts.

Prevention

The cam-shaft should be exposed in such situation that at removal of a cam-shaft to avoid breakage of a head of cylinders or the cam-shaft.

6. Turn off two bolts and uncover a forward basic neck of a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
7. Attach an auxiliary gear wheel to the main gear wheel one of the prepared M6 bolts, having screwed it in a carving opening in a gear wheel.
8. In the sequence return specified (see rice. The sequence of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of inlet valves (engines of 1,6 l and 1,8 l)) turn off bolts of other covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of inlet valves for several receptions. Turn off each bolt on 1/4 turns at one time until bolts do not begin to turn away by hand. Uncover, having lifted them vertically up.

Prevention

In process of an otpuskaniye of bolts of an average cover be convinced that the cam-shaft begins to move equally in support in the vertical direction. If any neck of a cam-shaft ceases to move freely, or the cam-shaft is released with a distortion (that is found on cams), then repeat the procedure of an otvorachivaniye of bolts of covers of basic necks, previously having tightened them with the set moment in the specified sequence. It is forbidden to take a cam-shaft with use of effort.

9. Get a cam-shaft, having raised it up.
10. Turn a cam-shaft of final valves so that the pin (it is specified in the drawing) was turned approximately for 5 hours.
11. Turn off bolts of fastening of a forward cover of a cam-shaft of final valves (from a gear belt), remove a cover and an epiploon.

Prevention

It has to be uncovered freely. If the cover does not give in, then leave it on the place with the turned-off bolts.

12. In the sequence return specified (see rice. The sequence of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of inlet valves (engines of 1,6 l and 1,8 l)) turn off bolts of other covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of final valves for several receptions.

13. Get a cam-shaft of final valves, having raised it up.
14. Wipe adjusting washers of pushers from oil, put tags with a marker and remove pushers together with adjusting washers.
15. You store covers of basic necks, pushers and washers in that order in which these details were established, without allowing their hashing.
16. Clamp a cam-shaft of inlet valves for a six-sided neck in a vice with soft sponges.
17. A key with two persistent pins turn an auxiliary gear wheel clockwise, then turn off the auxiliary bolt fixing the main and auxiliary gear wheel and carefully weaken effort, giving the chance to an auxiliary gear wheel to turn counterclockwise before liberation of a spring.
18. Take a lock ring of an auxiliary gear wheel, working with special passatizha.
19. Now it is possible to remove a spring washer (1), an auxiliary gear wheel (2) and a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel (3).

Check of a state

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Follow the instructions stated in subsection 3.1.1.9.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish pushers of final valves on former places whether previously having greased pushers with lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide assembly lubricant, openings in a head of cylinders. Be convinced of safety of adjusting laying on pushers.
2. Grease basic necks and cams of a cam-shaft of final valves with lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide, or assembly lubricant.
3. Lay a cam-shaft of final valves in a head of cylinders so that the pin was turned approximately for 5 hours.
4. Apply a thin film of sealant like RTV on a contact surface of a forward cover of a cam-shaft of final valves with a head of cylinders.

Prevention

The cover has to be established at once after putting sealant, before its hardening.

5. Establish covers of a cam-shaft of final valves on former places, observing numbering and orientation of arrows which have to be directed towards a gear belt.
6. Evenly, in stages and observing the sequence, tighten bolts of fastening of covers with the moment specified in subsection 3.1.1.1). To wrap bolts on 1/4 turns at one time.
7. Establish a new epiploon of a cam-shaft, being guided by the description in subsection 3.1.1.8.
8. Collect a cam-shaft of inlet valves with springs and an auxiliary gear wheel.
9. Establish a spring washer (1), an auxiliary gear wheel (2) and a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel (3) (a photo at the left), fix all details by a lock ring (a photo on the right).
10. Being guided by item 7, wrap an auxiliary bolt.
11. Establish pushers of final valves on former places whether previously having greased pushers with lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide assembly lubricant. Be convinced of safety of adjusting laying on pushers.
12. Grease basic necks and cams of a cam-shaft of inlet valves with lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide, or assembly lubricant.
13. Orient a cam-shaft of final valves so that the pin was located between the directions for 9 and 10 hours.
14. Orient cam-shafts of inlet and final valves, having combined adjusting tags on their gear wheels (see rice. Adjusting tags on cam-shaft gear wheels).

Prevention

On some engines there are two sets of tags. Not to use VMT tags marked with paint (see item 2). Adjusting tags differ in the fact that are duplicated with external and inside of gear wheels of cam-shafts.

15. Turn a gear wheel of an inlet cam-shaft on a gear wheel of a final cam-shaft, final before installation, in pro-points under basic necks to a head of cylinders, at the same time slightly shake a gear wheel of a final cam-shaft on an identical corner in both directions.
16. Establish covers of a cam-shaft of inlet valves on former places, observing numbering of covers and orientation of arrows which have to be directed towards a gear belt.
17. Evenly, in stages and observing the sequence, tighten bolts of fastening of covers with the moment specified in subsection 3.1.1.1). To wrap bolts on 1/4 turns at one time.
18. Turn out an auxiliary bolt from a gear wheel of a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
19. Establish the conducted gear wheel on a cam-shaft of final valves and tighten a gear wheel bolt with the moment specified in subsection 3.1.1.1). At an inhaling of a bolt hold a cam-shaft a key for a six-sided neck.
20. Establish a gear belt (see subsection 3.1.1.6).
21. Other operations on installation are carried out upside-down.
