Prevention The Top Dead Point (TDP) is the highest end of the resources at which the piston is, making back and forth motion in the cylinder. Each piston reaches VMT twice – at the end of a step of compression and at production of exhaust gases, however VMT most often is meant as compression step VMT. Installation of the piston (or pistons) in VMT of a step of compression is an integral part of many procedures, for example, removals of a gear belt and the conducted gear wheel or removal of the distributor of ignition.
