2.7.6. Check of a suspension bracket and steering

GENERAL INFORMATION

The device of a forward suspension bracket is represented on rice. Elements of a forward suspension bracket.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

	1. Establish wheels in the provision of driving on a straight line, block wheels. Turn a steering wheel to the right and to the left. The free wheeling (side play) of a steering wheel is defined as distance on which the wheel to that situation when wheels begin to turn turned (at this moment small resistance begins to be felt).
2. If the considerable side play is felt, then wear of bearings of naves, a shaft of a steering column, intermediate shaft, spherical support of levers of a suspension bracket or spherical hinges of the steering mechanism, or the wrong adjustment or wear of the steering mechanism is the reason.
3. Other signs, such as the strengthened swing of a body at movement along the bumpy road, a drift at turn, jamming of a steering wheel, indicate abnormal work and wear of details of steering and a suspension bracket.
4. Check operation of shock-absorbers for what several times sharply press each corner of the car and release. If after one-two pressing the body of the car does not come back to a starting position, then it indicates failure of racks of a suspension bracket and need of their replacement. During the pressing and an otpuskaniye of the car listen to sounds which are made by suspension bracket details. Additional information is provided in subsection 10.2 and subsection 10.3

1. Lift the car and establish on supports (installation sites of supports under a body are specified in subsection 1.6.7).
2. Check the drawing of a protector of tires for uniformity of wear, and also pressure in tires (the procedure for test of a condition of tires see subsection 2.4, in subsection 10.13 is described a replacement procedure of bearings of naves).
3. Check a condition of a crosspiece which is between shaft of a steering column and a case of the steering mechanism. Check existence on a case of the steering mechanism of dribbles of oil or infiltration through laying. Be convinced of integrity of consolidations and protective covers, of reliability of fastening of collars of protective covers. Check reliability of fastening of details of steering, absence for them mechanical damages. Check existence of a side play of spherical hinges of a steering rack. Check an inhaling of all threaded connections, existence of the broken or disconnected details, a condition of rubber plugs of a suspension bracket. Ask the assistant to rotate a wheel, watch at turn of a wheel a side play in steering details, a bend of details, freedom of their movement (side plays). At detection of considerable side plays find the weakened connection in connections of steering.
	4. Check wear of spherical support of a suspension bracket. For this purpose under each wheel enclose a wooden block 180 mm high. Lower a support until the spring of a suspension bracket does not apprehend loading equal to a half from nominal. Make sure that the wheel is in the provision of driving on a straight line and block a wheel blocks.
5. Shake mount the lower lever of a suspension bracket in the vertical direction. No side play should be observed, otherwise replace a support. The replacement procedure of spherical support is described in subsection 10.6.
	6. Check integrity of a protective cover of a support, having wrung out it a finger. At detection on a cover of damages and traces of lubricant replace a cover.
