PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unlike purely mechanical steering in steering with the hydraulic booster liquid which level is required to be checked over time is used.
2. The tank of the pump of the hydraulic booster is located or on the right side of a motor compartment, behind a windscreen washer tank, or in a back right corner of a motor compartment (it is specified by an arrow), near the index of level of oil in the engine.
3. Check of level of liquid is carried out on the idle engine when forward wheels are in the provision of driving on a straight line.
4. Wipe with pure rags a tank and a stopper of a tank. It is necessary to prevent hit of dirt or alien objects in a tank when checking.
5. Turn out a stopper, and having shipped a finger in liquid, check liquid temperature.
6. Depending on tank type check of level of liquid is carried out in two ways. If the tank of the pump of the hydraulic booster is taken out on the right wall of a motor compartment, then the level of liquid can be observed through a transparent wall of a tank on which control marks are put. On those cars in which the tank is mounted directly on the engine for check of level of liquid the probe is built in a stopper of a tank.
7. For check of level of liquid it is necessary to turn off and get a tank stopper together with the built-in probe, to wipe the probe with pure rags and again to screw a stopper. Then again turn out a stopper and check level on edge of a film of liquid on the probe. On tanks of both types the level of liquid has to be in the top part of the range designated by Hot (if liquid to the touch hot), or in the top part of range of Cold (if liquid to the touch cold). Keep in mind that the control marks Hot and Cold are applied on the opposite sides of a tank or the probe. Lowering of the level of liquid below the lower mark for the corresponding thermal condition of liquid is not allowed. Liquid level strongly changes depending on temperature therefore it should be checked when liquid hot or cold.
8. If necessary add liquid in a tank mouth through a funnel.
9. The frequent dolivka of liquid indicates dribble in hoses of the hydraulic booster, in unions of hoses, in the pump of the hydraulic booster, and also in the steering mechanism, need of careful check and elimination of malfunction.
