Partition of the mechanical transmission – very complex challenge for the simple motorist. She demands dismantling and assembly of very large number of fine details. It is necessary to maintain very precisely the mass of gaps and to change them, if necessary, establishing new washers or lock rings. Therefore if with the transmission there are problems, the simple motorist can remove and install the transmission, but its partition needs to be entrusted experts. You can buy, also, already restored transmission – look on a car market or in auto repair shops. Anyway, time and money spent for an independent partition of the transmission almost always exceed the cost of purchase of already restored unit.

Despite it, the motorist possessing the necessary equipment can carry out restoration of the transmission if he performs work consistently and accurately.

Tools which are necessary for a transmission partition include flat-nose pliers, strippers, the sliding hammer, a set of punches, the dial measuring instrument and, perhaps, a hydraulic press. Also, the big, steady desktop and a vice are necessary.

When dismantling the transmission, remember the provision of installation of all elements to make assembly more simply and more precisely. Before dismantling of the transmission it is desirable that you approximately knew what part of the transmission failed.
