7.1.4. Switch of headlights of a backing

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The switch of headlights of a backing is located from above transmissions.
2. Turn a key in the ignition lock in situation On and include transfer of a backing. The switch has to close a chain and headlights of a backing have to light up.
3. If headlights do not light up, check a safety lock of headlights of a backing (see subsection 12.1).
4. If a safety lock as it should be, check that at the switch there was tension (at the included ignition).
5. If tension is absent, check connecting wires between a safety lock and the switch; if tension is present, include transfer of a backing and check whether the switch closed a chain.
6. If the switch does not close a chain, replace it; if the switch as it should be, check, one of backing headlights burns at least.
7. If only one headlight burns, replace a bulb of other headlight; if both headlights do not burn, it is possible that bulbs of both headlights fused, but nevertheless it is more probable that the wire is broken off or there is a bad connection somewhere between the switch and headlights.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the connection socket from the switch of headlights of a backing (it is specified by an arrow).
2. Unscrew the old switch.
3. For check of the new switch before installation, check its work, having connected an ohmmeter to its plugs: at the pressed plunger it has to carry current; if releases a plunger, the switch should not carry current.
4. Install the new switch into place and reliably twirl it.
5. Connect the connection socket.
6. Check operation of the switch.
