7.2. Automatic transmission

GENERAL INFORMATION

On the cars described in this management the 5-skorostny mechanical transmission or the 3rd – the 4-speed automatic transmission is installed. In this part work with the automatic transmission is described. Operations on repair and service of the mechanical transmission are described in the first part of this chapter.

The A132L model is a three-speed automatic transmission which is installed on cars with engines 4E-FE and 4A-FE. Gear shifting is controlled by the regulator and the provision of a butterfly valve. The A240L model which is established on model with engines 4A-FE and 7A-FE is the 4-speed automatic transmission at which the fourth transfer is raising. On both models of transmissions the hydrotransformer with the blocking frictional coupling is installed.

In view of complexity of the device of the automatic transmission and need of use of the special equipment for its repair, in this chapter only the operations connected with carrying out the current maintenance, diagnostics, adjustment of the transmission, and also operation of removal and installation are described.

If the transmission demands serious repair, it needs to be given to auto repair shop. You can remove and install the transmission for reduction of expenses, but directly repair needs to be entrusted experts.
