The thermostat is in the inlet union of the cooling system, that is before removal of the thermostat it is necessary to merge cooling liquid up to one height lower than the union. The thermostat is checked the same as on the petrol engine. Temperature of opening of the thermostat makes 80–82 °C and at a temperature of 95 °C the thermostat has to open completely. At the same time the pin has to act on 8 mm from the thermostat.
